GILT AUCTION PREVIEW
  • The DMO is due to come to the market this morning with GBP2.0bln of the 0.875% Jan-46 gilt on offer.
  • This will be the sixth auction of the gilt since its syndicated launch in January 2021 but the first auction of the gilt in 2022.
  • The auction size of GBP2.0bln is in line with the majority of auctions of the gilt.
  • Auctions in 2021 saw bid-to-covers ranging from 2.03x-2.54x and tails from 0.2-1.0bp.
  • The closest comparable recent gilt auction was on 9 August for the 1.25% Jul-51 gilt which saw a bid-to-cover of 2.52x and tail of 0.2bp.
  • The 0.875% Jan-46 gilt will be on offer again on 1 November.
  • Timing: Results will be available shortly after the auction closes at 10:00BST with a further GBP500mln available to successful bidders through the PAOF.
