84% Of US Voters Concerned About Being Drawn Into Middle East War

US

A new survey from Quinnipiac has found that, “An overwhelming majority of voters (84 percent) are either very concerned (43 percent) or somewhat concerned (41 percent) that the United States will be drawn into a military conflict in the Middle East, according to a Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pea-ack) University national poll of registered voters released today. Sixteen percent are either not so concerned (10 percent) or not concerned at all (6 percent).”

  • Quinnipiac analyst Tim Malloy writes: "American voters watching the cauldron of the Middle East reaching a furious boiling point are fearful the war, so far confined to Israel and Gaza, will metastasize to include U.S. troops."
  • The survey comes as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah gave his first public speech since the start of the war, praising attacks on US troops in Iraq and Syria but appearing to stop short of directly engaging war with Israel.
