US TSYS: Adds detail: The temporary lifting of debt ceiling will expire this
Friday.
- To get ready, as legislators argue about the debt limit, the Treasury already
said it will suspend starting this Friday noon ET the issuance of SLUGS (State &
Local Govt Secs) which are normally used in the issuance of municipal bond debt;
recall that MNI said Wed that will force muni bond issuers to buy/use normal
nominal Tsys (front end) for use in such muni issuance.
- There are also a few other temporary moves that Tsy can do to squeeze out a
bit more room under the debt limit, but question is, how much room is left
there. We'll check that out & report on it.
