GOLD: After a relatively quiet European morning, the precious metal received a
boost as the USD came under pressure across the board and Nikkei futures touched
fresh lows. The price spiked from $1284.94 to two weeks highs of $1288.25 ahead
and into the NY open. The price pared gains as profit takers emerged dropping to
pullback lows of $1285.63.
- After printing 2-week highs of $1288.25 in early NY, the yellow metal slowly
pared back its gains following USD/YEN grinding of its session lows. The price
has drifted to pullback lows of $1281.95.
- As the US dollar comes under pressure across the board as concerns over
President Trumps tax plan re-emerges, this combined with concerns over Saudi
Arabia has seen the PM jump towards $1287.
