President AMLO is due to take his daily press briefing today for the first time since catching Covid-19 on Jan. 24.


USDMXN a little higher after a very weak close on Friday. Broad based dollar selling amid rising equity indices kept the Peso buoyant closing at 20.0898. Some relief as we start the week sees the Bloomberg Dollar Index up 0.2% and USDMXN back into the range for now.

  • A clear breach of 20.0742 would highlight the risk of a deeper sell-off.

*1pm Local: Officials from Mexico's finance ministry and the Banco de Mexico will hold a webcast media conference to detail efforts to aid migrants and their families.


*Separately, Retailers group ANTAD due to release same-store sales results for January.
