ANO Remains Most Popular Czech Party, Czechia Reports Monthly Budget Balance

CZECHIA
  • The latest Median opinion poll showed a decline in willingness to participate in parliamentary elections, which bolsters support for parties with stable core electoral bases. The main opposition ANO party remained in first place, improving its score by 1pp to 34%. The ODS came second with 13%, followed by the Pirates (11.5%) and the SPD (9.5%). If the results of the poll were replicated in an actual election, the current ruling coalition would garner a combined 40.5% of the vote, winning 91 seats in the 200-seat Chamber of Deputies.
  • Bloomberg reports that a parliamentary committee will debate a bill known as "Lex CEZ" which would make it easier for the government to restructure the power utility. The bills has been stuck in parliament, with recent reports suggesting that the government was struggling to identify the optimal time for its adoption.
  • Czechia's October S&P Global Manufacturing PMI will be published at 08:30GMT/09:30CET (consensus: 42.4). Later in the day, the focus will turn to October budget balance, due at 13:00GMT/14:00CET.
