Asia-Pacific stocks lacked a sense of........>

STOCKS
STOCKS: Asia-Pacific stocks lacked a sense of cohesive direction at the start of
the week.
- The Nikkei 225 traded lower, but finished the morning session well off of
worst levels after the JPY weakened against the greenback. The consumer staples
sector added the most weight to the index, while the IT sector outperformed.
- Elsewhere slowing manufacturing PMIs weighed on Chinese indices, with the CSI
300 losing over 1.0%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was more fortuitous as all of the
major sectors moved higher, with health care leading the way.
- Australia's ASX 200 managed to record modest gains with real estate leading
the charge, while consumer related names added the most weight.
- US index futures traded in mixed fashion, and were little changed.
