Asia’s Medium Sulphur Gasoil Differential to See Volatility: Platts

The FOB 500ppm sulphur gasoil cash differential is expected to remain volatile in the near term amid uneven to moderately weak regional demand, Platts said.

  • The Singapore FOB 500ppm gasoil cargoes averaged minus $1.76/b against the Mean of Platts Singapore assessment, widening from July’s average of minus 58 cents/b.
  • Sources told Platts that Asian demand is very weak at the moment, with good supply of higher sulphur gasoil like 500ppm.
  • Vietnam is a key importer of the grade but has seen lacklustre demand. Imports into Vietnam were down 36% to 329k mt in July amid strong domestic supply, which is meeting around 70% of local demand.
