AUSSIE: AUD/USD last $0.7094, 10 pips or so lower on the day, as NZD weakness,
stemming from weaker than exp. NZ labour mkt data, weighed on commodity
currencies to a degree.
- Familiar technical picture remains in play, with bears targeting the the lower
Bollinger band (2%) at $0.7076 before attempting a move at $0.7049, which
represents the lower 2.0% 10-DMA envelope. Conversely, bulls eye the cloud base
at $0.7120 and a break above would give them the green light for challenging the
$0.7160-70 area, where several key DMAs are located. These resistance levels
also tie in with A$1.44bn worth of options with strikes of $0.7165-75 that are
set to roll off at today's 10am NY cut.
- Focus now falls on the RBA's SoMP, due Friday, although most of the major
points of discussion have already been addressed by the Governor/RBA over the
last couple of sessions.
