Australia ANZ Oct Job Advertisements Up; Offsets Sep Decline

SYDNEY (MNI) - Job advertisements in Australia rose by the fastest pace in
three months, with the latest rise more than offsetting a revised decline the
month before, data from ANZ published Monday showed.
Job ads rose 1.4% m/m in October after a 0.7% decline in September, which
was revised down from previously reported flat outcome.
In trend terms, job ads have risen for over two years and have recorded
double-digit y/y growth rates for eight months in a row, in line with strong
business conditions reflected in National Australia Bank's monthly business
surveys. There has been a small moderation, however, in the latest month likely
reflecting a small slowing after recent strong growth.
From the ANZ job-advertisement survey for October:
                             October September
-------------------------------------------------------------
Job Ads (SA*, Change M/M) +1.4% -0.7 (revised from 0.0)
Job Ads (SA*, Change Y/Y) +12.5% +12.3%
Job Ads (Trend, Change M/M) +0.5% +0.7%
Job Ads (Trend, Change Y/Y) +12.2% +12.4%
