Australian LNG Production Threatened By Industrial Action

Workers at Woodside and Chevron LNG platforms and facilities in Australia have voted to strike, threatening to disrupt LNG supply.

  • 99% of the production employees on Woodside’s North Rankin, Goodwyn and Angel LNG platforms voted to take industrial action, including indefinite strikes.
  • The result means the workforce can cease operations with 7 days’ notice.
  • This follows similar votes for industrial action at Chevron’s Wheatstone downstream and Gorgon facilities. The former has a combined capacity of 8.9 mtpa, while Gorgon’s capacity is 15.6 mtpa.
