ENERGY: Azerbaijan Gas to Europe Rises to 11.7bcm in Jan-Nov 2024

Azerbaijan gas exports to Europe rose to 11.7bcm in Jan-Nov 2024 from 10.9bcm in the same period last year, according to Energy Ministry data.

  • Total gas exports from Azerbaijan were up 5% y/y to 22.9bcm in the period.
  • The total shipped to Turkey was up to 9bcm from 8.7bcm last year while exports to Georgia fell from 2.5bcm to 2.2bcm.
  • Natural gas production in Jan-Nov increased by 1.8bcm y/y to 45.8bcm.
  • Azerbaijan currently exports gas to European countries including Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia and has previously stated aims to raise gas exports to Europe to 20bcm by 2027.
  • Azerbaijan’s crude and condensate production fell to 26.5m tons in Jan-Nov from 27.6m tons a year earlier as exports fell from 23.1m tons to 22.2m tons.
