Azerbaijan Sees 2025 for Peak Natgas Production

Azerbaijan’s production of marketable natural gas will reach its peak in 2025 at 36 bcm, according to Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

  • Azerbaijan produced 34.96 bcm of marketable natural gas in 2022, a rise of 7.35% annually.
  • Total gas production is likely to be above the 36 bcm, as some of the gas produced is re-injected into the well.
  • BP led Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block delivered 1.5 bcm of natural gas in Jan-Sept to the Sangachal terminal or to Socar for domestic use, down from 2.2 bcm over the same period in 2022.
  • Total gas production from ACG was 9.6 bcm from Jan-Sept, compared to 10 bcm in Q1-Q3 2022.
