Bank of America: BCRP Remains Uncomfortable With De-Anchored Expectations

  • Despite the significant monthly deflation surprise observed in June and the weakness of activity, BofA believe the Central Bank of Peru will maintain the policy rate unchanged, at 7.75%, in the July meeting. In their view, the BCRP is still uncomfortable with headline and core inflation running well above the 2% target, and de-anchored inflation expectations.
