Barclays on September Employment Gain

US OUTLOOK/OPINION
  • Barclays economists "expect resilient, consumption-driven growth .. to be reflected in labour market performance" this Friday. Above the current consensus of +170,000 job gains for September (Bbg), Barclays estimates +225,000 jobs ( and +170k private employ gains vs. +155k consensus), with "average hourly earnings climbing 0.3% m/m (4.3% y/y), above the pace in August. On the household side, we look for the unemployment rate to decline to 3.7%."
