Belgium Lowers JAO CBC Allocation

Belgium sharply decreased its CBC capacity in the direction of France in the latest CBC auctions for delivery in August on the Joint Allocation Office (JAO).

  • In the Belgium-France direction, 349MW out of the 350MW of offered capacity was allocated at €1.77/MWh compared to 524MW allocated at €1.18/MWh for July delivery.
  • In the France-Belgium direction, 614MW was allocated at €10.25/MWh from 612MW allocated at €12.25/MWh for July delivery.
  • The French August power base-load contract settled at €47.38/MWh on 19 July, at a €12.12/MWh discount to the Belgian market.
