EGB SUMMARY: Bund futures moved to their highest levels of the month today while
European equities have been under pressure. However, since the US cash equity
open, Bunds have been gradually giving back their earlier gains.
- It has been another decent day for issuance with Germany selling Bobls for
E5bln, France selling a new 15-year OATi via syndication for E3bln and Italy
continuing to sell its retail focused 10-year BTP Futura with cumulative
orderbooks now around the E5bln mark.
- Peripheral spreads are mixed today with most semi-core spreads marginally
wider on the day. ** Latest levels:
* Sep Bund futures (RX) up 26 ticks at 176.14 (L: 176.02 / H: 176.37)
* Germany: The 2-Yr yield is up 0.4bps at -0.667%, 5-Yr is up 1.8bps at -0.643%,
10-Yr is down 1.4bps at -0.443%, and 30-Yr is down 2.8bps at -0.011%.
* Sep BTP futures (IK) up 22 ticks at 144.45 (L: 144.21 / H: 144.66)
* Italy / German 10-Yr spread 0.5bps wider at 163.8bps
* Sep OAT futures (OA) up 17 ticks at 167.67 (L: 167.61 / H: 167.88)
