Cheaper, But Off Overnight Trough

AUSSIE BONDS

Aussie bond futures roughly followed the broader gyrations in the U.S. Tsy space in post-Sydney dealing, operating off of their overnight troughs as of typing, given the previously flagged warning from the Pentagon re: the potential for Russia to deploy nuclear threats if the conflict with Ukraine drags out. That leaves YM -3.0 & XM -3.5. Meanwhile, cash ACGBs have seen a fairly parallel 3-4bp of cheapening across the curve, with very light bear steepening in play. Bills run flat to 5bp cheaper through the reds.

  • Issuance matters dominate today, with A$1.0bn of ACGB Apr-26 supply and the release of the AOFM weekly issuance slate due.
