CHILE: Super Wednesday Awaits, President Boric Visits UAE

  • Both domestic and global focus this week centres around Wednesday, where decisions from both the Fed and Chile’s central bank will take place. The BCCh meeting outcome looks set to be a close call, with the market split between a further 25bp cut and a pause, as this phase of the easing cycle draws towards a close.
  • Ahead of those decisions on Wednesday, the usual plethora of activity data will be released for June, including retail sales and copper production. On Thursday, economic activity data (Imacec) will cross, with expectations looking for an uptick to +1.5% Y/y.
  • Elsewhere, Chilean President Gabriel Boric begins his official two-day visit meeting UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In a bid to increase investment and economic ties, Boric will hold meetings in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and is accompanied by several officials including Economy Minister Nicolas Grau.
