China LNG Storage Inventory Rises

LNG storage inventories at China’s LNG terminals was 320,300 mt Aug. 31, up 5.57% on the week, according to OilChem.

  • Meanwhile LNG production at Chinese facilities rose 0.68% on the week to 427,400 mt, due to unit restarts at some terminals.
  • The operating rate at China’s LNG facilities was 57% in the week to Aug. 31. This is down one percentage point on the week but up 5 percentage points on the same period in 2022.
  • Sales volumes of LNG were 697,900 mt from Aug.25-31, down 4.93% on the week due to softening downstream demand.
