CHINA PRESS: China must maintain the stability of the housing market by adhering
to restrictions on home purchases and mortgage loans while increasing the supply
of housing, the Economic Information Daily reported. The Daily's report cited
Sheng Songcheng, a Counsellor from the Shanghai Municipal Government, who said
that housing policy should follow the Government's principle that "housing is
for living not speculating", even amid the epidemic. Increased housing demand,
calculated at around 9.78 billion square meters in the next ten years, will help
to support a stable housing market over the longer term, Sheng said.
