China Seeks to Enhance Scope of Fin'l Regulations: News

China's policymakers are likely to widen the scope of financial regulations to include business activities and "systemically important institutions" currently outside jurisdictions, the Shanghai Securities News reported citing Zeng Gang, the deputy director of National Institution for Finance and Development, who commented on the 14th Five-Year Plan. Policymakers are likely to make regulations more consistent to deter speculation, ensure competition and develop differentiated standards corresponding to the varying profiles of banks or clients, Zeng told the newspaper.
