China’s Refined Oil Exports Flat in May: OilChem

China’s refined oil exports stood at 2.85m mt in May according to shipping schedules cited by OilChem, up just 0.01m mt on the month.

  • Exports consisted of 0.74m mt of gasoline, 0.98m mt of gasoil, and 1.13m mt of jet fuel.
  • The flat exports in May were due to soft demand driving oversupply in Asia. This led to low export profits.
  • Average export profits for gasoline and gasoil in China were down 67.4% and 34.9% respectively on the month in May.
