OIL PRODUCTS

China’s Independent refineries’’ gasoline and gasoil production will fall 7.24% and 4.68% respectively on the month in June, according to OilChem models.

  • This would put June’s gasoline and gasoil production at 3.68m mt and 7.26m mt respectively.
  • The collective production of both products and China’s teapots is likely to be down by 2.94% on the year in Q2, attributed to intensive maintenance during that period.
  • A total of 15 teapot refineries were overhauled in June, taking around 3.57m mtpa offline.
  • Crude throughput is seen at 19,04m mt in June, down 5.35% on the month and 8.1% on the year.
  • Weaker demand is also weighing on production, with China’s gasoline and gasoil consumption forecast to be down 4.34% year-on-year in June at 32.4m mt.
  • This is due to the competitiveness of other energy sources, OilChem said.
