China’s Traffic Levels Fall on Week Due to Festival: BNEF

OIL PRODUCTS

China’s road traffic congestion levels fell by 13% in the week to June 12, down to 121% of Jan. 2021 levels, according to BNEF.

  • The drop was attributed to the Dragon Boat festivities taking place June 10.
  • This marks a premature drop compared to the previous year; however, the festival took place on June 22 in 2023.
  • In line with seasonal trends, BNEF expects China’s traffic levels to rise again over the coming weeks.
