DOLLAR-YEN: Continued react to the earlier comments from Chinese officials said
to recommend slowing or halting treasury purchases has seen the USD continue
heavy in early NY. Usd/Jpy holds near the base of its Y111.27-112.79 daily range
with next support seen on approach to Y111.00 (Y111.04/03 - 1.618% swing of
Y112.03-113.64, 50% Y107.32-114.73), a break here opens Y110.84 (Nov27 low).
* On the us calendar today Import/Export data is scheduled for release at
1330GMT, followed by Wholesale Trade at 1500GMT.
* There are a number of Fed speakers, Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President
Charles Evans participates in a moderated discussion at 1400GMT. Dallas Federal
Reserve Bank President Rob Kaplan participates in a moderated Q&A at the
Weitzman Group Annual Retail Forecast in Dallas, with audience Q&A, starting at
1400GMT.
* Later at 1830GMT St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank President James Bullard will
give a presentation on the "U.S. Economy and Monetary Policy" at the 2018
Economic Outlook event in St. Louis, with audience Q&A.
