CPC Crude Tanker Backlog Improves After Storms

The number of tankers laden with CPC crude that are waiting to cross the Turkish straits decreased over the past weekend amid better weather according to port agent reports and ship- tracking data, after bad weather had delayed the delivery of around 30mn barrels of CPC Blend, data showed on Friday.

  • As of Friday, two out of 36 tankers that loaded CPC crude after 30 December completed discharging. Five tankers crossed the Dardanelles strait over the weekend two more are currently crossing.
  • There are still strong winds in the Black Sea, but weather conditions are expected to be good otherwise for the next two days according to a port agent report.
