Curve Bear Steepens A Little, CPI Eyed

US TSYS

TY futures sit a little above overnight lows, -0-04+. Cash Tsys are flat to 2bp cheaper as the curve steepens, with the 2s10s and 5s30s ticking away from late NY session flats.

  • Some weakness in JGBs and an uptick in e-minis helped apply pressure in Asia.
  • Recent headline flow has seen softer than expected Norwegian CPI and continued support for European natural gas futures (which are a little shy of yesterday’s peak).
  • U.S. CPI data headlines the macro docket today.
  • Elsewhere, weekly jobless claims data, 30-Year Tsy supply and Fedspeak from Harker, Bostic & Daly is due.
