CZECHIA: Inflation Data Due Shortly, Cabinet Meets Later Today

CZECHIA
  • Czechia's September CPI data will cross the wires at the top of the hour (see the 07:15BST bullet for a mini-preview). Consensus looks for an acceleration in headline inflation, with many pointing to unfavourable base effects, which should encourage the CNB to stick with its cautious stance. The central bank will release its comments and more detailed data (including core inflation) at 12:00BST/13:00CEST.
  • Prime Minister Petr Fiala told reporters that during their joint meeting yesterday, the Czech and Polish cabinets discussed issues including migration, Ukraine aid, floods, and the Polish Turow coal mine. Fiala and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk described bilateral relations as "close and friendly."
  • The cabinet will meet in the afternoon, with a press briefing expected at 16:30BST/17:30CEST.
