Dos Bocas Ramp-Up Could Stall by Year-End: Kpler

The ramp up of Mexico’s Olmeca (Dos Bocas) refinery is likely to stall by the end of the year, Kpler said.

  • Mexico’s fuel imports remain high, while crude exports have remained stable, Kpler said.
  • Mexico imported 539k b/d of gasoline and 287k b/d of diesel, a rise of 3% and 16% respectively on the month. Gasoline imports were a year-to-date high.
  • Mexico’s Pemex says its Dos Bocas refinery will reach full capacity of 340k b/d by August 21.
  • AMLO said that the Dos Bocas refinery will meet a fifth of the country’s needs within the next two weeks.
