Durra Gas Field to be Operational by 2029

Kuwait expects its Durra gas field to be fully commissioned by 2029 according to Kuwait Petroleum executive – the field holds an estimated 20 trillion cubic feet of proven reserves.

  • The field has created tensions with Saudi/Kuwait claiming exclusive rights, while Iran also says it has rights to the field.
  • The field is expected to produce 1 Bcf/day of gas and 84,000 bpd of condensate.
  • Iran has said it intends to pursue its rights to the field.
  • On an oil production front, Kuwait is expected to be able to pump 3 million barrels per day by 2025, up from current 2.8 million bpd now according to the executive.
