{EU} ECB bank lending survey due at 0900 (London). Highlights from last time:


  • Banks tightened credit standards, across categories and faster than previously expected, driven by risk perceptions and lower liquidity.
  • Loan demand dropped faster than banks had expected driven by rates, weaker housing markets and lower confidence.
  • The phase-out of TLTRO-III was also tightening credit conditions and higher rate levels had helped bank margins – an effect that is expected to gradually abate.
