Economists Expect 25bp Rate Cut In September, According To BCCh Survey

  • Economists are expecting the BCCh to renew its easing cycle with a 25bp cut to 5.5% in September, following the decision to pause its easing cycle at the July MPC meeting.
  • The central bank is then expected to stay on hold in October, before cutting by 25bp at the December meeting, to end the year at 5.25%.
  • Inflation is expected to end the year at 4.5% (vs. 4.2% in the previous survey), while GDP is expected to rise by 2.3% this year (vs. 2.5% expected previously).
