Ecuador Candidate Lasso Pledges To Attract Investments

Ecuador Presidential candidate Lasso announced he would command an effort to sign trade agreements and attract investments, if elected on April 11.

  • He committed to honouring debt obligations, as well as pledging to publish terms of bilateral debt with China.
  • The conservative career banker said, "We will honour Ecuador's debt but what we will need is investment because that creates jobs".

Separately, a judge at Ecuador's Court of Electoral Disputes has accepted indigenous party candidate Yaku Perez's request to consider a partial recount, Perez said in a television interview with broadcaster Ecuavisa.
