EdF Cuts Nuclear Output Amid High River Temps

France’s EdF has cut nuclear generation this week amid high temperatures in the Rhone and Garonne rivers, remit data showed.

  • EdF may reduce output at the 2.62GW Golfech facility on 30 July until 15 August, with one unit in must run of at least 280MW until 30 August.
  • The 1.31GW Golfech 1 nuclear reactor will reduce output to 280MW until 15 Aug 00:00 CET. The unit reduced output since 12 Aug 14:30 CET.
  • Golfech 2 is undergoing planned works until 26 August.
  • EdF said it may reduce output at the 2.67GW St Alban nuclear complex on 10-19 August. One unit will at least remain in operation at a minimum of 600MW until 19 August amid grid constraints.
  • The 1.335GW St Alban 2 nuclear reactor will reduce output to 260MW on 13 Aug 08:00 until 15:00 CET. The reactor will also reduce output on 14 Aug from 08:00 to 19:00 CET to 260MW.
  • The 1.34GW St Alban 1 nuclear plant is currently scheduled to be offline 17 August until 13 October amid planned maintenance.
  • The 3.66GW Tricastin complex may reduce output on 13-19 August.
  • The 915MW Tricastin 2 nuclear reactor will be offline until 13 Aug 23:00 CET in a forced halt, after which it will be offline until 15 Aug 00:00 CET in a planned shutdown.
  • The 3.58GW Bugey nuclear complex may reduce output on 9-20 August, with one unit in must run at a minimum of 180MW due to grid constraints until 19 August.
  • The 910MW Bugey 2 reactor will be offline until 14:00 CET in an unplanned outage. Bugey 2 will also be offline for 24 hours starting 14 Aug 00:00 CET amid planned works.
