EdF Sees 2024 Nuclear Output at Upper End of 315-345TWh Range

EdF said on Friday it sees its nuclear generation this year at the upper end of the 315-345TWh range, amid better reactor performance.

  • Nuclear power generation stood at 177.4TWh in the first half of this year, up by 19.4TWh on the year.
  • For 2025 and 2026, EdF expects nuclear generation at 335-365TWh.
  • The reactor divergence of the Flamanville 3 reactor is imminent and the connection to the French grid will follow a few weeks afterwards.
  • Hydropower generation in H1 2024 increased to 31.1TWh, up by 9.9TWh year on year amid higher availability and improved hydrological conditions.
  • EdF’s solar PV and wind output increased by 13.1% on the year to 15.5TWh amid new capacity additions.
