EGB/Gilt: Gilts < Bunds < USTs Today

BOND SUMMARY
  • Gilts have underperformed Bunds which have underperformed Treasuries this morning, with the former almost flat on the day and the others marginally higher.
  • There has been very little newsflow to move the docket and the calendar is pretty sparse for the rest of the day. UK CPI tomorrow and the ECB Accounts on Thursday are the next notable releases for the markets.
  • Both gilt auctions were relatively strong with tighter tails and better bid-to-covers than previous auctions of the same gilts. (Although the sizes were marginally smaller than previous auctions).
  • Gilt futures are up 0.02 today at 137.05 with 10y yields up 0.2bp at 0.217% and 2y yields up 0.6bp at -0.41%.
  • Bund futures are up 0.05 today at 176.26 with 10y Bund yields down -0.2bp at -0.455% and Schatz yields up 0.3bp at -0.662%.
  • BTP futures are down -0.19 today at 147.64 with 10y yields up 1.4bp at 0.943% and 2y yields down -0.2bp at -0.148%.
  • OAT futures are unch today at 168.21 with 10y yields unch at -0.162% and 2y yields down -1.3bp at -0.627%.
