EIA Reduce Shale Oil Forecast to 9.415mbd in September

Oil output in the major US shale oil basins is forecast to fall by 20kbpd to 9.415mbpd in September according to the EIA drilling productivity report released yesterday.

  • The August output forecast was revised up from 9.397mbpd to 9.435mbpd
  • Monthly changes per region are:
    • Permian -13k to 5.799mbpd
    • Bakken +4k to 1.210mbpd
    • Eagle Ford -11k to 1.109mbpd
    • Niobrara +3k to 0.669mbpd
    • Anadarko -2k to 0.434mbpd
    • Appalachia -1k to 0.158mbpd
    • Haynesville unchanged at 0.036mbpd
