ELECTRICITY: Macquarie Eyes £20bn Investment in UK Infrastructure Projects

Macquarie is planning to invest £20bn in new infrastructure projects in the UK, including offshore wind developments, solar PV and battery storage projects, EV charging stations and others, it said. 

  • Macquarie plans to install around 650 EV fast-charging points across the UK, which will be partly powered by a new 9MW solar PV plant.
  • The bank also aims to invest into 5GW of new offshore wind projects, including the projects off the Orkney coast and Lincolnshire coast.
  • The bank also plans to invest in new solar PV capacity, battery projects, gas transmissions networks and others.
