ELECTRICITY: National Grid Secures Funding for Net Zero Projects

National Grid has secured £1.7bn in funding for four net zero projects as part of Ofgem’s Strategic Innovation Fund, it said. 

  • National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) has been awarded £920k for projects to support the decarbonisation of rural communities and the construction industry.
  • National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) has been awarded £840k for two projects to further investigate the future viability of offshore energy islands and superconducting technology.
