EMISSIONS: EU Carbon Permit Price Falls to Lowest Since 8 April

The latest EU ETS CAP3 auction cleared lower at €60.15/ton CO2e, compared with €62.02/ton CO2e in the previous auction and the lowest since 8 April according to EEX. 

  • The cover ratio was at 1.58, below the five-year average but within the five-year normal.
  • There was a total of 22 bids with 20 successful bids.
  • The mean price was at €60.56/t CO2e and the median price was at €60.06/ton CO2e.
  • EU ETS Dec24 is trading at the lowest since 8 April, with bearish fundamentals, weak economic sentiment and a pullback in natural gas.
    • EUA DEC 24 down 2.3% at 60.6 EUR/MT
