EnBW Cuts Hydropower Output Amid Flooding

Germany’s EnBW has reduced output at hydropower facilities due to flooding in parts of Germany, the utility said, cited by Bloomberg.

  • Issues around the Neckar River and its tributaries have forced hydro power plants to reduce operations, it said.
  • The situation on the Rhine River “is currently not critical,” it said.
  • Rhine river shipping stopped around Maxau and Mannheim in south Germany on Monday, the WSA said.
  • Shipping on the northern sections of the river is so far operating normally.
  • Rhine water levels at the Kaub measuring point rose to 1.83m over the past three days to 5.42m on Monday morning.
