US heating demand for the week ending Oct. 12 is forecast to be 24 heating degree days (HDD) below the long-term normal, according to Bloomberg, citing NOAA.

  • The regions with the largest deviation from the normal are Mountain, 52 HDD below average, E N Central, 40 HDD below average, and E S Central, 23 HDD below average.
  • This week’s total forecast for HDD is 26, compared to a normal of 50 but up from the actual figure of 17 from last week.
  • During the week to Oct. 5, the US was 21 HDD below normal.
