ENERGY: What to Watch: OPEC JMMC, Genscape and EIA Inventories

  • The OPEC JMMC monitoring committee meets today but delegates don’t expect any changes to the group’s policy to return some supply from December.
  • The latest Genscape European ARA crude inventories will be released today at 09:00BST. Stocks last week increased back above the seasonal five year average to 55.7mbbl.
  • The EIA weekly petroleum inventory data for the week ending Sept. 27 is due for release today at 10:30ET (15:30BST). A Bloomberg survey expects a 0.63mbbl draw in U.S. crude stocks, a 0.40mbbl draw in gasoline and a 1.68mbbl draw in distillates while refinery utilisation falls 0.50%.
