Asian equities are higher this morning, led by gains in technology stocks in Japan and South Korea, boosted by Micron Technology’s strong revenue forecast. The Nasdaq 100 futures also rose, continuing Wednesday's momentum. Despite China’s stimulus efforts, skepticism remains over its impact, particularly due to concerns about the housing market. 

  • Japan's TOPIX is +1.20%, while the Nikkei 225 is +1.75%. Tech stocks are the top performers with Tokyo Electron +6.35%
  • Hong Kong equity futures are pointing to a 0.7% gain on the open
  • South Korea's KOSPI is 1.90% higher, with Samsung +3.38% & SK Hynix +8.20. Although early foreign investors are on track to end the run of outflows with a $220m inflow so far this morning.

Meanwhile, the USD strengthened on Wednesday but paring gains early Thursday, while the yen steadied after a sharp decline. In the US, housing data showed a decline in new home sales, and oil prices remained steady after falling below $70 per barrel.
