EU Firms Submit 16bcm of Gas Demand In Second Joint Tender

The second round of the joint EU natural gas purchasing tender received applications for 16bcm of natural gas demand according to Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic,

  • International suppliers can place bids to match the demand by Monday, Sefcovic said.
  • The tender opened on 26 June and will be for deliveries up to March 2025.
  • In the first tender round, the platform matched 10.9bcm of sales offers with potential buyers. This was for requested monthly deliveries from June 2023 until May 2024.
  • The EU had set a goal of aggregating enough demand to fill 15% of its gas storage sites across the bloc, equivalent to around 13.5bcm.
