EU LNG Imports Edging Higher This Week

NW Europe is currently scheduled to receive another 19 LNG cargoes in the coming couple of weeks following 5 cargoes arrivals so far in April according to Bloomberg ship tracker data. Total arrivals during March and February were each at 60 cargoes.

  • Four LNG vessels are headed for the EemsEnergyTerminal in the Netherlands up from three in March and two in each of the previous two months.
  • Of the 60 arrivals in March, 61.7% originated from the US, 20% from Russia and 5% from both Qatar and Norway.
  • Seven Russian Yamal LNG cargoes were transshipped during March with six in Belgium and one in Montoir, France.
  • European LNG sendout was at 324mcm/d on Apr. 2 compared to an average of 303mcm/d over the previous week.
  • LNG arrivals to Europe are expected to recover this week to 2.6bcm from 1.8bcm last week, according to Kpler.
