LNG: European LNG Sendout Surges to Highest Since January

LNG – European LNG sendout has surged this week to the highest since January at 420.8mcm/d on Dec. 3 compared to an average of 352mcm/d over the previous week, according to Bloomberg.

  • Total European LNG cargo arrivals rose sharply last week to the highest level of weekly arrivals since November last year at 41, according to ICIS.
  • NW European LNG imports rose to 54 in November from 46 in October but still below a total of 77 arrivals seen in November 2023, according to Bloomberg ship tracking data. Tracking this week showed a total of 30 cargoes either arrived or scheduled for December so far into NW Europe.
  • The profitability of US LNG exports to Asia and Europe are close to parity throughout the winter but slightly favour supply to Asia although then favour Europe into the summer months, according to BNEF. For January delivery, profitability of US LNG exports to Asia is $11.31/mmbtu and to Europe is $11.03/mmbtu.

    • JKM Jan 25 up 0.6% at 15.03$/mmbtu
    • JKM-TTF Jan 25 down 0.2$/mmbtu at 0.37$/mmbtu
    • US Natgas JAN 25 up 2.1% at 3.11$/mmbtu
