European PPA Prices on Track to Rise in July

The average price of European PPAs are on track to increase on the month in July after prices moved up slightly in June from May, while costs rose just slightly on 23 July from the previous session amid mixed movements in the energy complex, according to the latest data from Pexapark. PPA prices could be supported today amid higher prices in German power, EU ETS and gas.

  • EU PPA prices averaged around €50.21/MWh over 1-23 July from €49.96/MWh across June and €48-49.47/MWh in April-May, respectively.
  • On the day, prices edged up to €49.90/MWh on 23 July from €49.71/MWh on 22 July.
  • PPA prices in Germany, France, UK, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands increased, while prices in the Nordics and Italy fell from the previous session.
  • Solar, onshore and offshore PPA prices rose between 0.47-0.5%.
  • Germany Base Power AUG 24 up 3.4% at 74.3 EUR/MWh
  • EUA DEC 24 up 2.4% at 67.31 EUR/MT
  • TTF Gas AUG 24 up 2% at 32.245 EUR/MWh
  • Rotterdam Coal AUG 24 up 1.4% at 111.15 USD/MT
