Excelerate Energy Signs Long-Term LNG Supply Deal with Bangladesh

Excelerate Energy said Nov. 8 that it has signed a long-term deal to supply LNG to Bangladesh’s Petrobangla, according to Bloomberg.

  • Under the supply deal, Excelerate Energy will sell 850-1m mtpa of LNG to Petrobangla for a period of 25 years commencing Jan. 2026
  • Excelarate opened the Bangladeshi market to LNG in 2018 following the development of the Moheshkhali LNG FSRU and then a second FSRU in the Bay of Bengal
  • It currently provides 25% of Bangladesh’s natural gas supply.
  • Bangladesh also recently awarded a tender to Total to supply a December 12-13 LNG cargo at $16.34/MMBtu
